Coming Soon
Some of the ideas below will be added to the site soon (this list also serves as a reminder to me):
- Site breadcrumb functionality
- Themes: Style switcher soon to be added. Don't like pink? Then you will be able to click different themes like topaz, red or purple. I'm just deciding whether to do this would distract from my "brand" colours however. I might just add it as a cool feature though.
- Do I need a blog? At present, I just use Twitter and run the Twitter API through my site. I'm currently considering whether to run a blog through Umbraco, or through a third party blog publisher like Glue so I can more easily update from my iPhone. Maybe predominantly a technology blog (or a feed from other blogs). Also, it is a good way to showcase my work as I created a custom Umbraco blog before
- RSS Feed from LastFM and Spotify
- RSS subscribe logo
- Site search functionality on right of navbar
- API integration with Google Maps and Flickr - continuing my MSc dissertation, 3 years later!
- More content (the great thing about Umbraco is that I can quickly jump in and edit content and styles, without the need to have an instance of Visual Studio running).
- Ensure consistent W3C web standards, valid HTML, compliancy at all levels
- Uploading sites I like with nice designs/pictures and links. Basically at the moment I put all this in bookmarks, and I'd rather share them.
- Development links section, especially with more information about Umbraco and the latest news from them. Possibly some MSDN updates from regular bloggers such as ScottGu
- Improve contact page (potentially with mailchimp integration)
- "Last updated" date control for the content: unsure about this, for which page would it be relevant at the moment?
- Create a web development links section
- Local music section (gigs etc)
- Collaborations! Mysterious...
- IE7 navigation CSS fix
- UK date format on Tweets regardless of server settings
- Create custom exception objects
- Reorganise architecture layers and develop class diagrams for organisation purposes
- More use of the eg. logo, including a redesign (colour and black and white), and a small watermark style version
- A nested navigation on hover over the navbar
- Continue work on JQuery mobile integration, including putting all pages into different divs so no need for a server-side refresh
Recently completed work:
- Portfolio section
- Today's date in white on right of navbar
- Improved error handling for admin
- Improve About Page
- jQuery mobile integration to optimise site for iPhone and other mobile platforms. Uses semantic HTML and is themeable
- Sitemap
- Robots.txt in root
- Redirect for page not found
- Implement browser bar titles (different for home than sub-pages).
- Added Google +1, Google and SoftSys ads (I use and rate SoftSys hosting) and updated Google Analytics

This is my 1000th tweet. I didn't really think much about it until I got to the late 990's and after (cont) http://t.co/wdDm37UC
