Favourite 404s

Here are some of my favourite 404 pages.* Send me some cool ones to be featured here (with credits!)

Bitly 404

http://bitly.com/returnemmaa404response - lovely animated page with a nice JavaScript ripple effect

 Bbc Programmes 404

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/404/404 - A hidden gem in the BBC Programmes 404. It uses the classic BBC Test Card, but wait... Mr Blobby has invaded! The page seems to have since been taken down (almost as soon as I added it here)...

Cbeebies 404

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/404 - Another nice BBC 404. Be warned that a guy shouts out the word you're hovering over...

Zervas and Pepper 404

http://www.zervasandpepper.com/404 - One of mine. The band seemed to like it, it just needs a funny image

Less 404

http://lesscss.org/404 - I love LESS for making CSS just easier and cooler. The 404 page sums them up really.

Github

https://github.com/404 - cute Star Wars reference, now animated slightly in HTML5

Errorpage

chi.mp (no longer linkable) - now a Star Trek reference

Mailchimp

http://mailchimp.com/404 - a longstring of sausages is always funny!

360Whoopsie Daisy

http://www.3sixty.co.uk/page-not-found.aspx - no longer linkable. Wilted daisy, queue comedy failed trumpet noise

Proteys

http://proteys.info/404/ - WARNING: quite loud, but this one has to be viewed with the sound on to be appreciated! Thanks @RMM1982

Think Geek

http://www.thinkgeek.com/404/ - I just like the word "Erroids"

Bluegg

http://www.bluegg.co.uk/404 - Saw these guys at the awesome Port 80 web conference in Newport. They were cool, and so is their 404 page (Tom even did a yoda impression after audience pressure!)

Css -tricks

http://css-tricks.com/thispagedoesnotexist - the page title reads "You've ripped a hole in the fabric of the internet. Love, CSS-tricks."

Google

http://www.google.com/404 - you've gotta love a broken robot!

* If you're wondering what a 404 page is, it is a "Page not Found" response. If you want to try and find some 404 pages, try typing a random word in after a URL.

@thegreatgar I agree, you often get much better quality and value too when you cook it up

@Sobek1985 haha awesome! I haven't managed to get anyone else to change theirs though!
